Virtual Reality project:
This was my project from my independent study from my last collage semester. I wanted to learn about making VR games, so I started by outlining what I wanted to make in gravity sketch, a VR 3D sketching program, just to get a general idea of what I was going for. I started to model the smaller individual parts for the game in Rhino, I started with the controller and the workbenches and the platform. After I did those few things I started to work with unreal engine a bit and get a feel for what I might be able to do. I got to a point where The controller I built was grabbable in game and the workbenches could be used to set things on, next was to finalize the environment and to work on an RC car model. I modeled the space i wanted in Rhino and I imported that into Unreal engine and got it to be navigable. The RC model i built was giving me trouble because I used Rhino to model it, it had a lot of information behind it, so I actually had to import into Maya first and combine the mesh of the object in order to get it into unreal. After I got that working in unreal engine i was able to work on some spatial audio in the environment. I only set up a few things but it adds to the game, near the track you can hear the sounds of RC cars, near the TV there is some music and, near the workbenches there is some construction noise. Overall this was a fun thing for me to work on and I learned a lot from making this.
